Where Junction comes from
technology developed since 2016 · patent granted 2022 · company formed 2025
Junction was formed in January 2025, anchored to the winding-up of its predecessor BiT256 S.r.l. (Bringing Innovation Into Technology 256), incorporated in Rome in September 2016 and struck off in December 2024. It carried the same product names: Junction® and JCode™.
A young company on an old problem, with mature technology, and a regulation that arrived after the technology rather than before it.
The core mechanism, a verified ownership handoff passed from one person to another, offline, outside the authorised channel and with no token, is covered by Italian patent IT 102020000019723, granted in November 2022 and held by co-founder Fabio Guglietta. The patent is published, which makes the mechanism prior art everywhere: it is a shield that buys freedom to operate, not a monopoly.
